The work has taken him from Chicago to Washington, D.C., from Los Angeles to the United Kingdom, to Cape Town, South Africa — among others — and the finding has never changed. The accent changes. He has sat with executives and with teenagers, in boardrooms and in borrowed classrooms, and found the same quiet arithmetic running underneath: a life built on someone else's blueprint, defended daily, at enormous cost.
He does not call it coaching. Coaching assumes the structure is sound and the player needs only sharpening. What NéMarziél does is rebuilding — taking a person down to what is load-bearing and true, clearing what was inherited or performed, and constructing from that foundation the version of themselves they were built to be. It is slower than advice and more honest than motivation. It holds because it is structural.
He arrived at the method through public education. Serving first as a school principal and later as a superintendent, he was accountable for the outcomes that cannot be spun — attendance, achievement, and the distance between a child who is reached and a child who is quietly lost. It was in those buildings that he identified what would become his life's work: systems do not fail suddenly. They drift. And drift, left unnamed, hardens into destiny.
From that observation he built the A.L.I.G.N Method, a five-part framework now practiced one-to-one and in cohorts, and holds the trademarks A.L.I.G.N™, The Voice of Alignment™, and ALIGNment is the Assignment™. He is the author of Letters to My Late Nephew Azriel and A.L.I.G.N: Face It. Fix It. Align It., arriving November 15, 2026 — the birthday of his late nephew, Azriel Lloyd, whose words "have patience and give grace" are woven through the whole of his work.
"NéMar," as he is known to those closest to the work, holds an FAA commercial pilot certificate — instrument-rated and multi-engine — and flies in his own time. Aviation is where the philosophy became a discipline. An instrument-rated pilot is trained for the moment the horizon disappears, because in weather the body lies: it will insist you are level while you are turning. Survival depends on a single refusal — the refusal to trust the sensation over the instrument. That is the whole method in one cockpit. Alignment is not what you feel; it is what the instruments say. And the correction is never dramatic. It is early, and measured in degrees.
He plays piano. He follows law and politics closely, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice alongside his Master of Education — a long-standing interest in how justice is structured, and for whom. He does not teach alignment as theory. He keeps the discipline in the hours no one is watching, which is the only place it is ever actually kept.
